Erica Campbell named a Honoree for 2019 Salute Her Awards Tour

More than a moment in history, this new charge is a movement and a major cultural shift that the Salute HerTM Awards Tour will kick off in Washington, DC (August 22, Arena Stage) and will make stops in four other amazing cities: New York City (September 16, Gerald W. Lynch Theater); Charlotte (October 18, Mint Museum Uptown); Dallas (November 15, The Black Academy of Arts and Letters) and concludes in Atlanta (December 6, Riverside Epicenter).

Artist and human rights activist Bree Newsome (Charlotte), the Washington Post’s first black woman reporter Dorothy Gilliam, FOX 5 News Morning anchor and WHUR radio personality Allison Seymour (Washington, D.C.), legendary actresses Leslie Uggams and LaTanya Richardson-Jackson (New York City), gospel music superstar Erica Campbell and spiritual leader Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie (Dallas) are some of this year’s roster of trailblazing honorees.

Leading the mission are Café Mocha show hosts Loni Love and YoYo,pioneers in comedy and hip-hop, with well known radio veteran Angelique Perrin. Helming the two-time Gracie Award winning, nationally syndicated show, the dynamic trio regularly welcomes other phenomenal women to share their truths and passions. Since 2011, Café Mocha Radio’s Salute Her Awards have honored over 175 women from around this nation for their often-under-recognized contributions.
